Same page, Multiple Sightings in ClickStream

Hi:
Don't understand why my clickstream? stats always show the same page listed, one right after the other, one with 4 seconds, the next with 2 seconds, the next with 3 seconds, etc. Shouldn't that page be listed just once? Also, the last page listed is always my index page, but that's not where' they're exiting from...
Thanks

Hello RJ,

Somehow this slipped by at the beginning of the week.

It sounds like one of a few possible issues:

1) you are using frames
2) the script is in place twice

We sugest that you send us the url by email so that we can take a look.

To answer your second question, if the exit pages are not being tracked, this is most likely because the script is not installed in the page from which the visitors are exiting.

Send us the url by email & we'll take a look.

Clickstreams are read from the bottom up, so that the last page listed will always be the page where your visitors entered. In most cases, this will be the index page.

Coming back to this issue, a few notes on tracking frames;

Opentracker will track all html pages, including those built with frames.

With frames, we recommend that you only track the main (a single) content frame on each page, not the navigation (actually we recommend not to use frames, as it makes it harder for search engine? bots to navigate your site, and makes it hard for visitors to land directly on pages in your site through search engines).

If you do use frames, it is better to only have one script somewhere on each page, so that you only see one click for each page.

The main point is that opentracker can track frames, and we recommend only one script per page, in the main content frame.
